Bra Fitting
When you find a bra that fits you perfectly the centre front of the bra (between
the cups) will sit flat against your body without a gap, the underwire
(under-wire) will sit comfortably against your ribcage, covering all your breast
tissue and following your natural contours and the cups will fit perfectly with
no bulging at the top or gaping. A correctly fitted bra will have a comfortable
level band all the way round your body with parallel (or close to parallel)
straps at the back which don’t dig in to your shoulders.
Bras are now available in cup sizes up to a JJ and in half cup sizes so there is
a bra to fit everyone. Many companies also offer post-mastectomy bras, maternity
and breast-feeding bras and first bras for teens so check out some of the online
lingerie companies we recommend for a full choice of bras.
Figleaves, the online lingerie specialists, have an excellent and detailed free
40 page downloadable guide to finding your true bra size.

Common Bra Fitting Problems & Solutions
Bulging over the top of the cups – this is usually caused by bra cups that
are too small. Solution - Check you bust size and check your bra sizing. Try a bra with a larger cup size.
Fabric wrinkling in the bra cups – this is caused by excess cup fabric.
Solution - Check your bust size using the methods on this site or using the "Bra
Measuring Tape". Consider a bra fitting. Try a
bra with a smaller cup size.
Wires at the centre front standing away from your rub cage – this is usually
a result of too small a cup size. Solution - Measure your bust size again, it
will change over time. Check your bra sizes, you may need to try the next cup size up.
Bra band riding up at the back – this is often an indication that the bust is
pulling the bra down at the front and can be the result of a loose bra band.
Solution -Try
a smaller band size or tighten the existing strap.
